Hi, usually from either manual changes to some privacy settings, or using a utility like Spybot Anti-beacon. Kudos to Rohit Khurana for the post above solving the issues of a greyed out firewall option. So within the services menu, I was unable to set it to automatic and start it. Can't guarantee that's related to the update being greyed out- more likely some other setting, but try it.
